Central Before OpenFunnel
Crunchbase/PitchBook posted Seed/Series A rounds days after founder announcements on LinkedIn/X, so competitors arrived first. Broad “recently funded” lists lacked micro-audience precision that helped with smarter campaigns when the startups were still hot (YC, a16z, Sequoia Arc, Pear VC). Meanwhile, ~12-15 hours/week of tab-hopping across LinkedIn, X, VC blogs, and job boards still couldn’t produce one live-signal loop, or the right timing.
OpenFunnel Implementation
Central shifts its approach with OpenFunnel:
Deploys real-time listeners for SEC Form D filings which capture funding events are months ahead of any static database providers which updates when publicly announced.
Listens on socials for any acceptance announcements to capture the latest batch for YC, a16z, Sequoia Arc, and Pear VC; and auto finds the founder profiles linkedin and emails.
Enriched with founders, signal context and messaging are synced directly to Hubspot.
After OpenFunnel
Real-time, high-confidence alerts replace slow databases and manual tab-hopping; Central builds latest-batch micro-audiences (YC, a16z, Arc, Pear) and launches sniper campaigns the same week, with verified contacts and evidence-backed hooks, no more spraying.
“Before OpenFunnel, we used static databases and couldn’t segment accounts. Now we get live funding signals and precise segments in one prompt.”
